PROFESSIONALLY GUIDED TROUT FISHING

The Western Lakes region sustains a unique recreational trout fishery that is valued for its wild environment.  For either beginners or experienced anglers, this is not just a trout fishing adventure, but an opportunity to experience the surreal wonder of Tasmania’s remote alpine wilderness and waterways with a personal guide.

With the opportunity for sight-fishing flooded lake margins, navigating lowland twig-water streams and chasing brawly trout in the early season months; anglers are also offered unparalleled sight fishing, mayfly hatches & terrestrial feeders, during the warmer parts of the season.

  • Anglers are required to purchase their Fishing License online before arriving at the Lodge.

  • From August through to April, the Western Lakes Wilderness Fishery provides the challenge of a trophy catch!

  • From May through to July, fish a private lake, or head off the Plateau to fish rivers.  Subject to availability.

  • Your guide will collect you from Thousand Lakes Lodge at 9am and return you by 6pm.

  • A $360.00 non-refundable deposit, (each day your guide is booked for), is due at time of booking to secure your guide.
