  • The terms and conditions provided within your booking confirmation, and of which are available online via www.thousandlakeslodge.com.au and made available as part of your check-in process, apply to all accommodation and experiences made available by Bernacchi Lodge Pty Ltd trading as Thousand Lakes Lodge (hereafter ‘Thousand Lakes Lodge’).

    It is the responsibility of all guests to have read Thousand Lakes Lodges’ terms and conditions.

    By making a booking, guests warrant that all parties, being accommodated in their room and/or group, have read Thousand Lakes Lodges’ terms and conditions and agree to be bound by them subject to such changes as may be notified to them.

    If the booking for accommodation and/or experience is made through a third party, the terms, and conditions of that third party also apply.

    We strongly recommend purchasing International or Domestic Travel Insurance for your journey to Thousand Lakes Lodge, including COVID-19 related events, to protect against any unforeseeable circumstances in the lead-up to your stay that might prevent you from getting to Thousand Lakes Lodge; or any unforeseeable circumstances which may prevent or delay your departure from Thousand Lakes Lodge.

  • It is the responsibility of guests to review the booking confirmation email and promptly advise if any changes are required.

    Arrival and access into the Lodge is from 2pm - check-out by 10am. Reception closes at 8pm.

    If you would like to arrive before 2pm, you will need to pre-arrange this with us by email. Early access to the Lodge cannot be guaranteed.

    All accommodation is subject to availability.

    Thousand Lakes Lodge will endeavor to provide accommodation but reserves the right to refuse.

    Rates are per room, per night, based on a maximum 2-person occupancy, and include breakfast daily.

    Refund is not offered for any components of Packages that are not used or consumed during the stay.

    Thousand Lakes Lodge does not cater to people under 16, including newborns and infants.

    Rooms are not equipped with mini fridges or tea and coffee making facilities. These are available in the communal ‘Bar and Larder’ area.

    Rooms are not equipped with Televisions; a television is available for shared guest use in the front lounge.

    Wi-Fi is unavailable. There is limited mobile coverage for Telstra & Optus users.

    The Lodge is not responsible for guest’s medications that require refrigeration.

    Pets are not permitted.

    Assistance animals are welcome. Authority is to be granted by Parks and Wildlife - Great Western Tiers Field Office if planning to walk in any areas of the Central Plateau Conservation Area, away from Thousand Lakes Lodge.

    Tasmanian Parks Pass is not included. It is the guests' responsibility to purchase the necessary Parks and Wildlife Pass prior to arrival.

  • As arrival and access into the Lodge is from 2pm, lunches aren’t available for guests on day of check-in.

    Lodge meals are produced off-site by professional caterers and prepared on-site.

    Food and beverages are served only within the lounge and dining areas of the Lodge.

    BYO is not permitted. Only food and beverages provided by the Lodge are allowed on the Lodge premises.

    Breakfast, lunch, two and three-course dinners are available only to guests.

    Berakfast is served between 8am - 9am / Lunch is served at 1pm / Dinner service is at 6:30pm.

    We aim to cater for food intolerances and have done our best to accommodate basic dietary requirements: GF, DF, V, VG

  • We accept Mastercard or Visa. Credit-card surcharges do not apply.

    All accommodation and experience bookings must be guaranteed at the time of reservation by provision of credit card details.

    Payment is processed at checkout, or according to our cancellation policy.

    A confirmation email must be obtained. If a confirmation email is not obtained, the booking is not confirmed.

    By providing credit card details, guests warrant they have the authority to use the credit card and they authorise Thousand Lakes Lodge to charge the cost of their booking(s) and/or fees to that credit card.

    The liability of Thousand Lakes Lodge arising from any cancellations of accommodation or experiences by Thousand Lakes Lodge, or a third-party operator is limited to the amount paid for the cancelled booking.

    These terms and conditions do not apply to fishing/angling or walking, which is managed by third-party operators, and have their own terms and conditions which apply to bookings with them.

  • Thousand Lakes Lodge is a smoke-free environment, except for one designated external smoking area.

    Tobacco products, electronic cigarettes, personal vaporisers, herbal cigarettes, non-tobacco cigarettes are not permitted within the Lodge, or any entrance and exit locations.

    Cigarette butts are to be discarded, into the bin provided at the property’s designated smoking area.

    No allowance is made for inclement weather conditions.

  • Group or function booking enquiries can be directed to info@thousandlakeslodge.com.au

    Group booking requests are subject to a maximum occupancy of 18 guests, or fewer, at Management’s discretion.

    A 10% non-refundable deposit is required, at the time of confirmation of the booking of the group or function and acceptance of quote.

  • In the event of a booking cancellation, guests are entitled to a refund if they have pre-paid their booking UNLESS one of the following applies, or the booking is cancelled by the property due to fire, floods, or snow:

    48 hours before check-in - No charge, but only if booked directly with the Lodge.

    All cancellations are to be requested in email

    A cancellation confirmation from the Lodge must be obtained, otherwise the booking remains in effect.

    No show - Penalty of the full cost of the booking will be charged.

    Early departure – Full cost of the booking will still apply and will be charged.

    Peak Periods – Cancellations 14 days or less, prior to the date of arrival – 100% cancellation fee will be charged:

    • Stays between December 21st and January 10th

    • Good Friday through to Easter Monday

    These conditions only apply to individual bookings, not organisational group bookings.

  • Due to the off-the-grid nature of the Lodge, we are unable to provide any facilities for the charging of electric vehicles.

  • The operation and use of drones by park visitors on reserved land including national parks is not permitted. Please visit Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Use of Drones on Reserve Land for further information.

    Drone use is also not permitted on Lodge grounds.

  • The Lodge is situated on the Central Plateau Conservation Area, part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.

    A valid parks pass is required as you will be entering a National Park.
